man these times are hard.
jared’s affirmation that he was not going anywhere seemed to lift a great deal of the weight off of her chest. it had been a hard few weeks knowing that this woman who had walked out of his life had his daughter had worried her; mostly because at one point this woman had meant something to jared. miranda knew that she shouldn’t have been worried because jared chose her. he married her, and for her own self doubt to get in the way was nonsense. “good because i don’t want you too. i wouldn’t know what to do without you!” which was an absolute fact, considering she had been attached at jared’s hip ever since she moved. for six years her life had very much been intertwined with his, and a life without jared would be a life in the dark. something that the brunette could not fathom. “the feeling is mutual love, you boys are my world. i would be completely lost without the two of you.” laying her head against his chest she was finally starting to feel somewhat at ease. at least it wasn’t taking everything in her body to keep breathing. randi’s body finally felt like it was less tense, and it was only jared who could do that to her. it was just something about the man that intoxicated her and just put her at ease. randi nodded her head when he started to talk about his daughter; she knew that that little girl did not deserve any wrong doing done to her, it wasn’t her fault that her mother was a horrible person. all she could do was give jared the freedom to make the decisions on this as he saw fit. randi may not trust reese, but that little girl was about to become a big part of her life since she was married to her father. feeling his arms wrap around her, miranda finally felt safe. even if this was one of the worst days of her life, she was safe. nothing could get to her as long as he held her and made her forget about that argument that had almost had her leaving the house. she listened carefully as she listened to his heart beat steady like it always did. “i worry, jared. it’s what i do. and why don’t you like to see me cry? is there logic behind that one, or just because i’m your wife? because i hate to see you hurt and upset like you have been tonight too.” she looked up at him enough to see that kiss connect to her head, before she felt him adjusting underneath her. that was when his lips made contact with her neck, and she about melted. a little moan escaped her lips before she sat up and looked at him. “oh you think that is just going to make everything better, huh husband?” but she was only half serious as she moved so that she was sitting on his lap before kissing his lips leading a trail of kisses to his neck and back to his ear. when she reached his ear she whispered softly. “i love you jared mitchell trent, forever and always.”
