find a rhythm in your heartbeat evelyn garland had hardly been the girl that everyone in this town knew her to be, and there were so many different reasons for it. today, no today was different. she was walking back to the houseboat after being with the one person who could bring a smile to her face with no questions asked. everything about james hale was finally falling into place, or at least being pieced back together. for now though she was sauntering into the place that she now shared with one of her best friends, and was perfectly content with the world as she shut the door behind her and kicked the flip flops off of her feet. evie went to the fridge immediately trying to find something to drink, and then looked around. there was something seriously wrong with this scenario as she looked around the small living space, and she figured out what it was. micah was no where to be found! it was almost uncanny for him not to be awake and functioning whenever the door opened, but as she made her way back to the bedroom, she shook her head seeing the half naked idiot sprawled out on his bed. it really did make her laugh, as she set the pop she had grabbed on the dresser and plopped down on the bed. her brilliant mood had caused a grin to be permanently attached to her lips as she started to poke and prod at micah trying to wake his ass up. she needed to talk to him and she was not going to be ignored. though, evelyn was well aware of how micah could be and kept clear of his range of motion with those arms; she was fairly certain that he was sporting some kind of weapon be it a knife or a gun under that pillow she was certain there was something before she poked him in the ribs and spoke. “wake your ass up lazy bones! i need to tell you something, and you know i’m just as annoying as ever when in a good mood! so you should just wake up now.” she smirked lightly as she saw his body move, but waited for him to actually speak before she said anything else. tagged for: micah david orsino // word count: 381 // notes: hehe too funny // credit: to luna love bug <3

Today was not a typical day in the life of Micah Orsino. It wasn’t because something odd was happening, or even something spectacular. Nothing peculiar or exciting was happening at all; what made this day non-typical was the fact that Micah was still asleep. Everyone has their days where they just sleep because they can, Micah included, but this was a man that was usually up at the crack of dawn regardless of what time he had gone to bed or passed out the night before. He enjoyed the sunrise, and it wasn’t uncommon for him to be seen out along the main road, jogging down the sidewalk before he was able to hit the beach and run along the shore. Micah was a fit man and he liked exercise mostly because it gave him something to do and kept him both physically and mentally engaged. Today, though, Micah had missed his beloved sunrise and his morning run. He was still passed out in his bed, stripped down to only his boxers and a thin comforter barely covering his body as he sprawled out over the mattress. His sleep was sound, and the way it was going he probably could have slept for another hour or two easily. However, his slumber was disrupted when Micah felt his mattress shift with someone plopping down beside of him. Normally, this would have received a defensive reaction from Micah, his hand clenched around a knife that stayed beneath his pillow at all times and poised to swing. But this time, he didn’t swing. He felt a poke in his ribs and narrowed it down to two people automatically: Amy or Evie. Then he heard the voice, and knew it was Evie. He groaned, and then inhaled deeply as his hand released that knife, him moving although he’d really like to still be sleeping. Micah managed to flip himself over onto his back, his eyes only half open as he looked up at his friend and current roommate. “Fine, I’m wake, but I’m not happy about it,” he mumbled, voice still thick with sleep as he brought a hand up to rub over his face. “What do you need to tell me, Evie?” And why the hell couldn’t it wait until he had woken up on his own terms?

find a rhythm in your heartbeat when evie had stumbled upon her sleeping roommate there had been a million ideas pop into her head about what to do with him. though poking him in the ribs was the least likely to get her injured by whatever was hiding under his pillow. today was a day that nothing was going to bring her down, after spending the entire day trying to sort through everything that had been going on with jem and herself she was on a high. nothing could bring her down, not even a grumpy sleeping orsino. evie knew that micah had to have known where she had been since she had not been home the night before, but she needed someone to talk to. the worst part was definitely going to be boosting his ego and telling him that he had been right. evie poked him again, and she was finally getting the results she wanted when he flipped over onto his back. when she saw his eyes start to open, evie wore a wicked grin. especially after hearing him say how unhappy about being awake he was. “well you don’t have to be happy about it, mister. you just have to be awake. besides, you are not a lazy ass so you needed to wake up anyways. you missed your morning routine.” evie knew all about that crazy as routine of his, and she never understood how someone could be up at the ass crack of dawn and run. personally she enjoyed her runs in the afternoon or late evening as a way to relieve all of her stress from the day. but her smirk quickly changed to a full blown smile as she pulled her knees up under her chin as she sat in front of micah. “well, don’t get too used to this statement coming from my mouth, but...you were right. about things working out. i was out with jem all day yesterday. but there is more.” evie’s dark eyes needed him to wake up and be completely coherent because some of the things that jem had asked her were still weighing in on her heart and she needed her best friend to help her work through her crazy head. tagged for: micah david orsino // word count: 378 // notes: hehe too funny // credit: to luna love bug <3

As Micah laid there and tried to wake himself up more, he realized that Evie really could have done a lot more to him than just poke him in the ribcage. He was thankful that she hadn’t because he would never want to hurt her, but it was a reflex that Micah had picked up over the years. He could remember waking up to water balloons being thrown at him by Tyler and Amy, and one time Ty got so brave as to flip Micah’s mattress over completely with Micah still lying on it fast asleep. When Micah had been at home, the twins would sometimes decide to tackle him to wake him up, which could be annoying but he never once complained. He was just glad that Evie had gone for something more subtle that hadn’t resulted in her losing a limb, and now he was really trying to focus on what she was talking about. Yeah, he was slowly realizing that he had missed his sunrise and had yet to get to run, but that was okay. He was sure that he would make up for it somehow. Micah yawned and stretched, but her words got his full attention quickly. He had been right? Well hot damn. He smiled, happy for his friend. Evie had been such a mess without Jem, and he was glad to see that the two of them were able to start working things out. “More, huh? Am I sure that I want to know?” Micah was all for happiness, and he definitely wanted Evie to have someone that made her feel like her old self. And it wasn’t like he had virgin ears that could not handle the details of some exploit if that was what she was ready to tell him, but Micah liked to tease just the same. “Ah, what the hell. Go ahead, tell me.” He moved himself into a more upright position, mostly sitting up now as he looked at Evie, awaiting what it was that she had woken him up to talk to him about.

find a rhythm in your heartbeat evelyn saw that grin spread across micah’s face and she knew instantly that he was awake and aware of anything that she had to tell him. she was fairly certain that anyone would have been if they had heard the same statement come from her lips, but it was micah and evie. their little relationship was never easy, especially after what had happened between them and their significant others. their whole situation was a crazy mess, but after the entire day with jem she could easily say that it had been one of the best days of her life. everything finally seemed to be looking up, and she was finally feeling like herself again. when jem was in her life everything felt like it was easy, just like breathing and when he was gone it was like the sun in her world had gone out. but she smirked her wicked smirk as micah asked if he really wanted to know. sure there were some good questions that she needed his advice on, but what could it hurt if she decided to give away a few naughty details about her sex life? considering she had done it all the time with him before. “actually, you probably don’t want to know. but i’m going to tell you anyways.” he was always teasing her, but hearing him go on about it was just funny for her. “i was going to anyways. so chill yourself down. but yeah, we had some of the most amazing sex of my fucking life, mike! i have had make-up sex before, don’t get me wrong, but that was amazing. it tops any sex ever, no offense.” she nudged him gently as she watched him adjust himself to a position that was more comfortable. when he moved evie decided to cuddle up next to him and look at him. “on a more serious not, he asked me something and i don’t know what to do about it.” the living arrangement scared her a little bit, but what if he really wanted her back there? could she really not go? tagged for: micah david orsino // word count: 363 // notes: hehe too funny // credit: to luna love bug <3

It really was amazing to him to see her like this. Micah had witnessed Evelyn hit rock bottom, watched her struggle to pull the pieces of her broken heart back together only for something else to come crashing down on her, and he hadn’t been able to save her from any of it. Micah hated to see others like that, and while he had done what he could in helping her and offering her a place to stay, he knew that he would never really be who she wanted him to be. Jem was the one and only guy that could turn her around and make her so happy, and Micah was really only too happy for her even though he was still a little tired and couldn’t display it properly. He liked their banter, and sat there and smiled at her as she told him all about this sex that she had had with Jem. He had no doubt that she had had herself a good time, and his ego wasn’t even hurt when she said that Jem had been the best she had ever had. It was understandable, and Micah knew how different things could be when there were real, honest to God feelings fueling every movement and every feeling rather than lust taking over. “None taken,” he answered brightly, and then she was moving over to cuddle up against him, Micah smiling as she did. Now she said she had a serious note, and Micah’s mind pieced together what he thought she was going to say. Of course now that they had made up Jem would probably not like her living with another man, and certainly not Micah who had been the main offender in their last little spat. “Well, tell me what he asked and I’ll tell you what I think you should do.” Micah didn’t want to jump the gun though incase that wasn’t what Evie had to say, but she would know that he would share his opinion on the matter with her whether she asked for it or not.

find a rhythm in your heartbeat there was something about micah that always put evie at ease, and that was probably why she went to him for everything. he had been one of the only people to piece her together and help her stand on her own two feet again. he was one of the best people that she had ever known and she was thankful for everything that he had done for her. but he was never going to be what she needed or wanted because he wasn’t james hale. so she was excited to tell someone what had happened the night before, and well mike was basically her best friend. he had been through everything with her thus far, and she was certain he appreciated her good mood rather than her mopey ass that had been all over the place for the past few weeks. but that sex had been amazing and she was glad that micah didn’t take offense to her statement. “good, because it was fan-fucking-tastic! like no joke. it was just different than anything else. even from when we had slept together before our idiocy.” she knew why it was different because she knew that jem loved her just as much as she loved him. the only different was that the three words were going to be hard pressed to slip from her lips any time soon. evie let her head find his shoulder before looking up at him, and there was something about this man that held her in her arms that she would always wonder what could have been if there had been no jem or feia. that smile was intoxicating but she needed to remember what she needed to tell him and not get lost in that smile of his. “i think you already know, or at least can figure it out. but he asked me to move back in, and i don’t know what to do. i know it probably isn’t best for me to keep living here and all, but i don’t know if i trust him enough to move back in. what if i do something just as stupid and end up out on my ass again?” she looked up into those eyes and hoped he had some words of wisdom because evie needed some guidance. which was rare for her to ask for. tagged for: micah david orsino // word count: 399 // notes: i does love them // credit: to luna love bug <3

There was just something about Micah Orsino that brought people to him when they needed someone to talk to. It was almost funny, seeing as there was something else about the twenty-seven-year-old that told a lot of other people to stay the fuck away, but for those that were close to him, he was like their wise sage, ready to listen and give advice. It was probably just the fact that Micah was just so open to everything, never judging a person for a thing that they said or did. He listened to all tales impartially, and was brutally honest when he was asked for help and opinions. That was what people really needed to hear, and it seemed that they had all learned that he was where to go for that kind of thing by now. Evie was no exception, and Micah just continued to smile as she talked about her newfound sex life so ecstatically. “Well, I’m glad you’re doing so well for yourself. Some of us are still in the doghouse.” Meaning him, because Feia was still not giving any ground and Micah wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to fix that one, but this conversation wasn’t about him. He would keep things light, and instead he let his arm go around his friend and listened as she told him what he had already figured out for himself. Jem had asked her to move back in, and of course Evie was unsure. “Ev, why would you go and do something stupid when you obviously love this guy? You learned your lesson; he’s forgiven you…why wouldn’t you give yourself this opportunity to be happy with him?” Micah knew that Evie had her own self-doubts and worries, but she wasn’t completely hopeless. “You can’t keep hiding out here forever, babe. Sooner or later you’re going to have to be give yourself over and try again, and if you don’t go now I think that would be a big mistake.” Then he grinned. “And thank God, I’ll have some peace and quiet again!” He couldn’t say it without laughing, but Evie would know that he would miss her.

find a rhythm in your heartbeat evelyn knew that micah was going to have to work to get back in the brit’s good graces but this was evie. the fact that james had forgiven her again after all of the many stunts that she had pulled just amazed her. knowing that he loved her terrified her beyond anything else in the world, but knowing that she felt the same way was what made it worse. that was what mike was for. he always had the right words and picked evie up whenever she needed it. there was one person who had worked their way into her life as the best friend and it had always been micah. but talking about her sex life just made her smile. it was always entertaining to see what kind of conversations evie and micah could get themselves into. “well that sucks for you. i on the other hand am having amazing make up sex. you should try and get in on that and make things better with your girl. she’ll come around, i mean how can someone not. you are my micah bear!” he was her big teddy bear as she snuggled her little self into him more. she needed to feel safe and moving back into jem’s would just be adding to her uncertainty. she hated that feeling, but she just listened as micah started sharing those words of wisdom that he seemed to have. “because i’m a realist. this is me we are talking about, i almost always manage to mess something up. and i have absolutely no idea what you are talking about with that love word you speak of. in case you forgot, i don’t love anyone. i’m cold and heartless.” it was obviously a lie, but she would be damned if she admitted that was what she felt for james. it was just too much too soon to admit that. evie rolled her eyes slightly whenever there was talk about her hiding. “i am not hiding out, but i don’t want to get hurt again, mike. it sucks each and every time on a whole new level. and you know it is you who is up my ass about everything, i am actually an easy house guest. you on the other hand are unbearable to live with.” the giggle that filled the air reminded her of how her life used to be and it finally seemed that everything was where it should be and that she had finally moved past her dark and twisted past. tagged for: micah david orsino // word count: 432 // notes: i does love them // credit: to luna love bug <3

Both Evie and Micah had pretty much screwed up the good things that they had had going for them by sleeping with each other. They had hurt people that they really cared about, and that wasn’t something that would ever sit right with Micah. He was very grateful for the fact that Jem had been a good enough man to forgive Evie, but it was no secret that his and Feia’s relationship, or whatever it had been, was basically over. Micah missed his friend and he hoped that one day she would be willing to forgive him, but for right now he gave Feia her space. He listened as Evie spoke encouragingly, saying that Feia would come around and that things would get better. Micah hoped that she was right, but he only just nodded his head. There were a lot of thoughts whirling around in his mind, but for now he would keep those to himself and listened to her next statement at which he had to roll his eyes. “Right, cold and heartless… Okay, so you like Jem. If he means that much to you, then you’ll figure out a way to make it work. You can’t doubt yourself all the time and let you get in your own way of being happy. You deserve good things. You just have to let yourself have them.” And stop bulking and fucking things up the moment it got too real. But, it wasn’t just her issue. A lot people went through the same process but he hoped Evie would be able to break out of the cycle. Then Micah was laughing again, shaking his head at her. “Look, just because I wanted a kiddie pool does not make me unbearable. I was just trying to have some fun!” And come on, how kick ass would that have been? That was one of Micah’s high and slightly buzzed ideas, but it still would have been pretty awesome had Evie just let him have the damn thing. “But in all seriousness, I think you should move out and go live with Jem. I think I’ll be able to manage here without you. Ty will probably be my next roommate and I’ll be begging you to come back.” Not that Micah didn’t love his kid brother, but he had to get a dig in there at some point.

find a rhythm in your heartbeat there was something about micah that made her trust him, above all others she trusted him. it was one thing that she could honestly say and his opinion mattered to him. so she snuggled her ptite body up against him and was thankful that he wrapped her up in his arms. she knew that if jem had never been in the picture that her heart would have belonged to micah, because out of every male that has ever walked into her life those two had the power to make her feel better. which was why she listened as he spoke. evie almost started laughing as he said about her liking jem, and it was the way he said like that made her pull a hand to her lips to stifle that giggle. “i don’t deserve anything but what i have gotten, and i sure as hell didn’t deserve his forgiveness. he is a far better person than i ever realized or deserve.” she knew that she was hardly anything worth while, but there was something different about james hale and there always would be. he was her rock when she needed saved and he was the only person that could make her feel like this. but mike had a point, she needed to let herself be happy this time around and not screw it up. there was only so much a man could take before he reached his breaking point, and she had honestly thought that james was done with her after she and micah had their fling. evie was thankful that she had such wonderful people in her life, but then micah had to go and bring up that damn kiddie pool again. “i’m going to tell you like i told you then, we live on a freaking boat! there is no need for a kiddie pool! we are surrounded by water!” she was overexagerating just how frustrated she was with mike, but it was how she worked. “but if you really want a kiddie pool we can get one. it will be one of our last adventures as roomies.” she smiled brightly, knowing that after he said his last piece that she had basically already made the decision. she just needed someone to push her in the right direction, and that was why she always came to mike. “you know you will miss me, micah. i’m a lot more fun to have around than ty, plus i don’t throw water balloons for no reason. and because i am at least pretty to look at, you on the other hand are only slightly studly.” she was teasing now, and she kew that this was one of the major things she would miss about living with micah. their conversations were some of the best she had ever had. tagged for: micah david orsino // word count: 486 // notes: hehe too funny // credit: to luna love bug <3
