just waste time chasing cars brody couldn’t help but laugh at this whole situation. there he was a complete ball of nerves because of everything that was going on to go on at his birthday party. he should know that nothing good would come from an event that was surrounding the trent family and knowing that micah was there would not put him at ease. hearing mykayla was one of the many things that would put him at ease though. it was just how she was, especially if she knew that there was a possibility that he was going to die. at least if he died tonight at this party then he would have gotten to spend some quality time with his best friend, a woman that he cared about too much and wanted nothing more than to have their old relationship back. he missed the days where she knew everything that was going on and how he always knew what was going on with her. it was just how things were between the two of them, and it was his own stupidity that had broken their relationship from the bliss it had once been. but he was glad to know that the blonde had his back and would protect him from the eldest orsino and make sure that amy knew that he didn’t walk away from her. it would just be so hard to let that relationship fall to pieces, but he just laughed at her. this part of their conversation was so light and easy, everything else seemed to have serious undertones that were not easy to talk about. he worried about her more than he probably should, especially since she was married and had greyson to do that instead of him. their lives were moving in different directions and it was just hard to witness. the only good thing that brody could do was get her to laugh about him bringing up their old sex life. it had been really entertaining to have mykayla get all angry at him while they had sex because he answered his phone. it wasn’t like he wanted to, but lainey would not stop blowing the damn thing up. it really wasn’t his fault, but it was mykayla. hopefully she understood his joke and didn’t pout at him. when he heard her little giggle he was happy. “i had to learn something that day, if i didn’t i would have answered the phone every time! i learned to put the damn thing on silent when we got down to business. which is exactly what i do with amy, so if i miss that call just keep calling! i’ll get it eventually! you know me, i have to eat after!” he laughed a little harder knowing full well that kay understood how hungry he could get after exerting that much energy. but it was just brody being his usual self. when that money made it’s way back in his site and hand he glared at the blonde. there was no way in hell he was taking that money even if it was supposed to be his birthday present. “absolutely fucking not mykayla! now take the damn thing and put it in your purse or it is going to stay on the damn table and our waitress is going to have a freaking awesome tip. i won’t take your money!” he was putting his foot down on the situation refusing to take the money from her. when she grabbed his hand it was taking everything he had not to take it out of her grasp, and that was when he felt that little baby kick his hand. it gave him the creeps. “how do you live with that kicking you all the time?! i mean i would hate to think that you have the creepiest thing waiting to burst out of your chest!” brody’s mind had gone to the movie alien and it was just weird. he was not liking this feeling at all! tagged for: mykayla rachelle mccarthy // word count: 679 // notes: birthday! // credit: to luna love bug <3

-----She was glad to see him laughing. Mykayla had always loved it when this young man smiled, and had loved it even more when he laughed. Even though they had been joking and poking some fun at the idea of this party, Kay really did want him to go into it looking to have fun rather than being scared to death of what may or may not happen to him. He deserved a night like this, and it made her happy to see him finally relaxing and taking her word that everything was going to be okay and that even if it wasn’t, she would be there to tell the truth. It was adorable, and it only made her smile a little wider as she thought about it and all the stories that she was bound to hear tomorrow when people started recovering from this party. And, truth be told, she was a little glad that she had good reasons to not be involved. Mykayla was a Trent, and she had had more than her fair share of liquor in her day. She was always that good, innocent little girl except for when it came to drinking, and she could hold her own but it always seemed that she didn’t know when to stop and ended up in some funny little story of her own. This time, she would be happily snuggled up to Greyson when the party was getting started and that sounded fantastic to her. They wouldn’t be together for this celebration, but Kay was more than certain he wouldn’t even remember that she wasn’t there after he got the right amount of drinks in him. Almost like how it had seemed that he had forgotten she was there the time he had answered his phone when they were having sex. Mykayla couldn’t believe that he had brought it up, and back then she had been really angry at him. Looking at the phone was one thing, but to answer it and to know that it had been his sister? Kay could remember how her jaw had dropped, and then how her face had set in the expression that had clearly told Brody to get the hell off the phone. “If you hadn’t learned, we wouldn’t have been having sex,” she countered, hushing her voice slightly. But, he had learned and he seemed to be trained well now. Amy should really thank her for that one. Kay did smile and shake her head at him though, laughing along because she did remember what his little habits had been. He would check his phone after, and if he so happened to miss her call the first time then he’d get her message and know what was going on. Then, there was this battle of stubbornness over this money she was trying to give him, and while Kay certainly did not appreciate the tone he took, she knew that there was no point in trying to fight with Brody about it. She had a glare of her own as she pulled the money back towards her, but she bet that she could slip it in on him when he wasn’t looking, if not here at the restaurant then later in his car when he took her home. For now, she would let him believe that he had won. Kay had wanted him to feel the baby kick, but his reaction wasn’t the typical one she had gotten before. She could tell it unsettled him, and it kind of surprised her. “You don’t think that’s just amazing?” she asked, not understanding at all because she loved to feel her son move, as did everyone else that laid their hands on her belly. The baby gave another swift kick as if to prove a point, making Mykayla grin. brody / amber!

just waste time chasing cars as much as mykayla wanted to believe that he wouldn’t realize that she wasn’t there, she was wrong. sure there would be plenty of distractions and lots of alcohol to try and keep his mind away from that fact, but the truth of the matter was that brody loved sharing his birthday with her. it was one of the many things that always brought a smile to his face. he was glad to know that she was always going to be there on that day with him to celebrate and do some crazy shit. it was just how their birthday always worked, but he supposed that this year he would let it slide. he would try and forget that this girl who meant the absolute world to him wouldn’t be there to share in his epic stories. you could be guaranteed that he would be telling her all of the tales the next day just so she could feel like she was included. he absolutely loved laughing with her and remember the many times that they had shared in their relationship. their sex life had been entertaining and filled with a lot of memories that would never go away. like this instance that they were talking about. it wasn’t like he had meant to answer the phone and make her think she wasn’t important to him! it was just a fact that it had happened, and he would never repeat that incident again. she had made sure to make it clear, and he smiled brightly at her as she kindly reminded him of why it was that he had gotten in trouble and what the consequences would have been if he had not learned. “why do you think i made sure i put the damn thing on silent?! i couldn’t live without my sexy time from you! it would have driven me crazy! besides, we were too damn good together not to have sex, and you know it!” a grin was plastered to his face knowing that was the truth. he was just glad that the woman had found someone to appreciate her the way she deserved, even if it wasn’t him. but this money business was not going to change. he was going to have to keep a close eye on her the rest of the day, because he knew her. she was just as stubborn as he was and would try and slip it somewhere when he wasn’t looking. but he just rolled his eyes as she glared back at him. it was just how she was, what he wasn’t liking was the feeling of this little boy kicking him! it was just weird and he was making his opinion on the matter known. she could get away with it right now, but if she tried it again it would not be happening. the second kick had brody pulling his hand away from that belly and staring at her. “do i strike you as the kind of person that would like that? no, i watch too many movies to think that this is cool! knowing my luck it would bust out of your belly and try and eat me! i’m serious mykayla, did i not make you watch aliens? i would not like a repeat of that movie. thank you. but it’s not me that has to like it, it’s you! so as long as you are cool with it then that’s awesome!” brody on the other hand would not be letting his hands be placed on that belly anytime soon! tagged for: mykayla rachelle mccarthy // word count: 603 // notes: birthday! // credit: to luna love bug <3

-----Talking about their past was sometimes hard to do and often times felt like a touchy subject to bring up in the first place. It was no secret that Brody Whitter had been the first serious relationship that Mykayla had had, and he had also been the first man that she had ever slept with. Her feelings for him had once been so strong that she hadn’t known what she would ever do if he were to leave her, and she had loved him with all of her heart. But, things change and Kay had realized that her love was not meant for Brody. It had been hard at first, and had even remained that way until very recently when Brody had been forced to move on and Kay had found her happiness with Greyson. Mykayla was just glad that the awkwardness was gone now and that she and Brody could reflect back on those times with grins, smiles and laughs rather than having those underlying feelings of bitterness and maybe even resentment. This kind of talk was not what she had expected, but it was certainly enough to keep this conversation interesting. Of course Mykayla knew that Brody hadn’t meant to make her feel cheap by answering the phone that one time, but that’s what he had done and she knew that he had apologized more than enough for it after the fact. She knew that it would have been cruel and unusual punishment for her to withhold sex from him, but Brody would have definitely learned then if her glare hadn’t been enough to teach him. A grin came to her lips that would match his own. “We were alright,” she said with a little shrug of her shoulders. Maybe it had been more than just alright, but Kay couldn’t help herself. This conversation with Brody had her feeling better and up for picking on him just a little bit more. But then the little baby that was growing inside of her decided to be the topic of conversation, and Mykayla was just so surprised that Brody was freaked out by this. She loved to feel her son move, and Jared was always laying his hands on her belly whenever he was around. Kade and Hunter had to wait for their turn, and even Kay’s father had been happy to see that baby moving and being healthy. Greyson and Mykayla had been in absolute awe the first time they had felt the baby move, and they still were even now. But, then there was Brody who was pulling his hand away from her when the baby had kicked for the second time. She couldn’t help but to roll her eyes at him with his explanation. Really? He was basing this off of a movie? Kay sighed. “Brody Whitter, you amaze me. My baby is not an alien! And I’m happy to feel him kick because I know he’s okay if he’s moving.” Kay was sick; that much was obvious but even when she should be worried about herself, it was her unborn son that she worried about the most. brody / amber!
