There was a rational voice in the back of her mind saying that she didn’t need this, and another voice telling that one to shut up because she did in fact need this. Mykayla had already showered earlier on in the day and therefore was clean and did not need this bath that she was currently drawing for herself, but it sounded like heaven and even smelled like it too once she added more than what was needed of her favorite bubble bath. She hadn’t done this in forever, and it seemed like a long time overdue as she slid out of her clothes and down into the warm, bubbly water. It felt amazing on her back that ached, and over the rest of her body that generally felt so weak and run down almost all of the time now. Kay let herself relax, her eyes resting on the rather large baby bump that was still visible through the bubbles even though the rest of her small body was covered. A smile touched her lips before her eyelids drifted shut, and she didn’t stir again until the water started to lose its warmth and the bubbles were down to a thin covering. Mykayla picked one hand out from under the water, confirming that her fingers were nice and prune by now and that being the last signal to her that it was time to get out of her bath. Sighing, she placed both hands on either side of the tub, ready to pull herself up like she had done a hundred times before, but this time didn’t go so fluidly as the others. Her feet slid and her arms didn’t seem strong enough. Even after she had gotten herself in a sitting position, there just was not enough room to maneuver herself and that big baby belly around to stand. Kay slumped back into the water, sighing and defeated as her gaze turned to the half open bathroom door. She was really going to have to do this, wasn’t she? “Grey?” she called, knowing her husband was in the house somewhere, or at least hoping he was and that he hadn’t gone outside. “Greyson?” she called, this time a little louder. Mykayla was already imagining the look he would give her when he realized what she needed, and that was help to get out of the stupid bathtub.

to say that grey was tired was an understatement. he had barely been sleeping since mykayla's scare and emergency room visit. though he was thrilled to know that he was going to be the dad of a baby boy, he was still afraid of her losing his son now. most nights when kay slept soundly beside him, he just stared at the ceiling, hoping nothing would happen that night. when he did finally get sleep, he wouldn't be out long before waking up again. work hadn't been helping either. it seemed as if arietta was unsettled over something, needing the cops for everything. that meant grey was always on high alert for whatever was to come on the job. after the twenty-five fixed a loose bolt on the boat that he had owned for years, he wiped away the sweat that had accumulated on his forehead. his hands were covered in oil and grease, being the sign that he had done a good days work on fixing up the boat. he wiped his hands down on the towel nearby before tossing the wrench into his tool box. with the sun setting, he decided it was time to call it quits. he was just entering the back door when he heard his wife's voice call out to him. he quickly washed his hands in the kitchen sink before rushing up to the bathroom where he found her stuck in the tub. the look on her face was enough to make grey laugh out loud. he leaned his tall figure on the doorway and crossed her legs at the ankles before smirking. "you should see yourself right now. want me to take a picture?" he laughed at his own words, knowing mykayla probably would get frustrated that he was teasing her instead of helping her out. he planned on helping her, but he wanted to get a little fun out of it first, seeing as he needed something like this in his life right now to make him forget everything that was going on.

-----When she heard no response, Kay honestly thought that she was going to be stuck in the bathtub until Greyson happened to find her some time later. She knew he had mentioned something about maybe going out to work on his boat, but surely he wasn’t still out there with it. Mykayla sighed, frustrated but not at her husband. She was annoyed with her helpless position, knowing that maybe if she weren’t so sick she could have the strength to pull herself up enough to get out of the tub. But, then again, it probably wasn’t a great decision to try this when she was big enough to pretty well be her own planet. Her cell phone was even out of reach, lying on the counter by the sink and practically taunting her when her eyes fell on it. But, then Kay heard movement downstairs, her attention snapping back to the door. She smiled when she heard footsteps on the stairs, knowing that help was on its way, but was quick to remember her situation and the frustration that came with it. That, and she knew the exact look of amusement that would be on her husband’s face when he entered the doorway and saw what she was up to. She was sighing now, feeling defeated once again as Grey appeared in the doorway and his laughter filled the air. Yes, she was sure that this was funny and she felt like laughing herself, but that would only happen once he got her out of this tub. Instead of coming to her aid, though, Greyson leaned himself up in the doorway and seemed to be in no rush to help. He was joking about taking pictures, and Kay felt a little frown tug at her lips. “I can imagine just how pathetic I look without a picture.” And she even sounded a little pathetic too as she looked at him with big, pleading blue eyes. “So, what’s it going to take to get you to help me?” She knew that Grey wouldn’t be cruel and not help her, but she had a feeling that he was going to want to milk this one for a little while longer before he gave in. And really, who could blame him? It had to be pretty funny from where he was standing. greyson / sami!

the frown that appeared on mykayla's face only made grey smile even wider. he usually didn't enjoy seeing her suffer - even in the smallest amount - but this just seemed too priceless to him. he tried multiple times to stifle the chuckles that wanted out, but he failed more than he succeeded on that part. her pleading eyes only made his smile turn into a smirk again and soon he moved closer to her, but not close enough that she could grab him. propping himself up on the sink, he cocked his head to one side as the devious smirk from before stayed put. "it's moments like these that make me wish i really wanted to have something, but you wouldn't let me get it." he let out a fake sigh as he pretended to be trying to think of what he wanted in return for help in getting out of the bath tub. "you could let me be in charge of the name for the baby..." grey let his words trail off as his blue eyes met hers. he knew she would let him be apart of the baby naming process, but most guys knew that once the mom had her heart set on a name, there was no way the dad would get a say. he gave a smile at what he just proposed, though he knew that even if she did agree, he'd still let her help since she was half of the reason the baby existed in the first place, and full reason that the baby even made it into the world.

-----Okay, she knew that this was really amusing, but did he really have to laugh like that? Kay was already very aware of the fact that she was huge and this incident was doing nothing to help the young woman’s self-esteem. She sighed, seeing that her plan to flash him her most desperate and pleading puppy dog eyes had failed, Greyson still not budging and only coming as far as the sink as if to taunt her. He was really enjoying this too much, and Mykayla couldn’t help but to think that she would make a mental note of this and remember it for the next time he needed her to do something. But, she did know that if the situation was reversed that she would have to tease him just a little before she actually extended a hand to help him; it just would not have been Kay and Grey if they didn’t poke a little fun at each other now and then. Even though she was still trying to appear perfectly sad and like she wasn’t seeing the humor in this at all, Kay couldn’t stifle the little grin that appeared on her lips. Of course he would see this as the time to make a bargain. It really was too bad that he didn’t have some crazy dream of owning a motorcycle or taking some long trip because Mykayla wasn’t in much of a position to say no at this point unless she wanted their son to be born in that bath tub. His idea had her little jaw dropping, but only for a moment before she snapped it shut. How did Greyson even see that as fair? “In charge?” she repeated, but knowing that she had heard him loud and clear. “As in…completely?” Kay didn’t doubt that her husband could find a great name for their baby, and she was sure that her opinions would be considered. She tore her blue eyes away from his, glancing at the confines of this tub and wondering if there really was no other option then to do this. Then she had an idea, and she looked back to him with a little gleam in her eye. “Are you sure you don’t want something else? Because there’s a very good possibility that once you get me out of this tub, I may choose to not put my clothes back on and let you have your way with me.” Yes, she was bribing her husband with sex, and she bit her lower lip to try and hold back her giggles. That option would benefit them both, and Kay really was feeling good and not so ran down and tired as she often did lately, the combined wear on her body from the pregnancy and cancer not letting be with her husband in that way as much as she would like. Then there was that giant baby belly to work around, but there were always ways. Maybe he wouldn’t give in completely, but she could hope for a compromise. greyson / sami!
