COME ON, COME ON TURN UP THE MUSIC It wasn’t often that Amy got a day to herself. She was often at work or with Brody and very little else tended to occupy her time. But today she was off and Brody was off doing something, so she was left to her own devices, which was never a good thing. She had told Brody to hurry with what he was doing and come over as soon as possible, but that didn’t mean that he would get there any time soon. So she spent the time roaming the house to see what she could possibly get into. With most of her siblings moved out, and only Melanie and Michael to torment, there wasn’t much fun to be had and so Amy found herself in the kitchen, making herself a late breakfast of pancakes. It was too quiet in the house, though, so she found the CD player she kept in the kitchen for just such occasions. She found her favorite station and was excited they were playing one of her favorites, Lady Gaga’s Poker Face. She grinned and immediately started dancing around the kitchen and singing along at the top of her lungs, pausing occasionally to flip her pancakes or otherwise. Had someone walked in on her at that precise moment she likely would have flipped out, but she made her pancakes uninterrupted and eventually had them gone. With that task done, though, she had no idea what to do with herself. She was so bored, in fact, that she snuck into Melanie’s room to see what she could find and possibly steal or rearrange in which to drive her little sister crazy. She uncovered the family’s Wii game system, which had been missing for several months, and her sister’s Glee Karaoke game. Amy grinned, grabbing her spoils and making her way down to the living room, hooking it all up to the TV and setting everything up. She selected a song and held the mic in her hand. When the screen indicated it was time for her to sing, she did so. She got really into it, too, singing quite well at the top of her lungs, determined that she was going to beat all of Melanie’s high scores because she knew it would irritate her to no end. Plus, she was having a lot of fun with it too. tagged for: brody michael whitter // word count: 392 // notes: so adorable!!

a hard pair we will be brody whitter was not used to having to run errands for his sister and their family. hell if he could afford to live on his own away from his entire family he would. it was something he hated, but it was because of his idiot father that he had the kickass sister that he had. lainey though was being a right pain in the ass as brody was running all over the god forsaken town with her. thankfully that was when he got the text from amy saying to hurry up and get his ass over there. it also was not often that his girlfriend was not attached at his hip, not that he minded. in fact, he would much rather be over visiting her than running lainey to hell and high water. finally dropping his sister off at home, brody was able to make the trek over to the orsino’s home. hopefully he wouldn’t have another run in with the eldest sibling, because he was still a little scared. micah had that affect on him, and he was not about to do anything stupid to hurt little amy. no, he loved that girl more than anything else in his life. so whenever he arrived, he left the keys to his truck in the cup holder and headed up the walk to the front door. he knocked and no one answered, so he figured what the hell and let himself in. immediately he was greeted with the scent of pancakes, but it was a voice that filled the air that struck him. he followed the sound and found amy with her back to him playing some karaoke game. he was kind of struck by how amazing her voice was, but he stood watching her for a few moments before sneaking up behind her and letting his arms wrap around her and pull her into him. “well hello gorgeous. i didn’t know you could sing so beautifully.” he smirked at her and then kissed her cheek. brody had a bad feeling that he was going to be forced into doing this with her, and much like his dancing brody’s singing was worse. tagged for: amy lynn orsino // word count: 365 // notes: always amazing // credit: to luna love bug <3

COME ON, COME ON TURN UP THE MUSIC Amy didn’t like being away from Brody. She spent a great majority of her day with him, and when she wasn’t with him she hated it. Maybe it was crazy that she should want to be with him as much as she was, but she did, and Amy had really stopped questioning her feelings for Brody. She loved him, and he loved her. All she wanted was to be with him. But at the moment he wasn’t here, and she was forced to entertain herself. Which was exactly what she did. Few people were aware that Amy had a love for music. It wasn’t something that she openly shared with people, and though this whole game, karaoke thing could easily be shoved off as her just fooling around, chances were this was the moment that Brody was going to find out about this. The thing was, Amy could sing really well, and she was actually a really good dancer. She enjoyed doing both of those things very much, and if she wasn’t so scared to let it be known there was a great chance that she might have been a performer of some sort. But despite her outgoing personality, Amy had a tad bit of stage fright. When Brody wrapped his arms around her in the middle of her song, Amy jumped so badly that had he not been there holding her there was a good chance she would have fallen. Her heart was racing so fast. “Well hello gorgeous. I didn’t know you could sing so beautifully.” Oh boy. She took several deep breaths to try and steady her racing pulse. She elbowed him in the side, hard, wiggling out of his arms as she ran to shut the game off. She turned to face him. “You scared me! Why didn’t you tell me you were going to be here!?” Her heart was still racing. She didn’t think anyone had scared her so badly in her life. tagged for: brody michael whitter // word count: 328 // notes: so adorable!!

a hard pair we will be brody enjoyed seeing his girlfriend in her element, and as she danced around singing at the top of her lungs it was great entertainment for him. seeing her this happy pulled a smile to his lips with ease, and he genuinely enjoyed these moments when he could watch her and not have her notice. but whenever his hands snaked around her slender body, feeling her jump like that made him laugh. it was hard not too. since he basically made her jump out of her skin, and if she had not been held so tight to his body she would have collapsed. brody had no doubt about that in his mind. he could feel her breathing deeply trying to calm herself, but he was just happy to see her. it wasn’t like she should have been so surprised about considering she had texted him to get his ass over to her house. he had smirked at her and was so happy to see her, and her response was typical. when her elbow connected with his side, brody winced and shirked away from her as she was doing the same to him. the difference was because amy had managed to nail him in the broken ribs that were still healing. it just caught the young man off guard, but he was happy to see his brunette beauty in such a good mood. “you were the one to tell me to get my ass over here. so you should have known that i was going to come over. besides i missed your gorgeous face.” but whenever she ran to turn the game off a wave of relief washed over him. but he was happy to see that game turn off and when her body turned towards him, brody scooped her up in a kiss. “i’m glad i’m here with you, lainey was a pain in the ass all day, besides i need time to chill after that run in with your brother.” brody had not been totally prepared for that one, but it was another thing entirely as he pulled his girlfriend into him. he could be like this every day and never care. he loved her, and thankfully she loved him despite everything he had done. tagged for: amy lynn orsino // word count: 383 // notes: always amazing // credit: to luna love bug <3

COME ON, COME ON TURN UP THE MUSIC Amy felt slightly guilty when she heard him wince and she remembered that he was still injured. Whoops. She’d make it up to him later. “You were the one to tell me to get my ass over here. So you should have known that I was going to come over. Besides I missed your gorgeous face.” She glared at him playfully. “Flattery gets you nowhere.” She laughed. “And I wasn’t expecting you until later! You said you’d be a while.” Had she known that he was going to be coming over she would not have been standing in her living room performing to the game like she had been. When she turned the game off he took her back in his arms and he kissed her. She kissed him back but she was still very much flustered. Her whole musical passion was not something that she wanted to discuss, or really wanted anyone to know about. Not even Brody. She was very shy about it, and shy was not something that anyone could ever say that Amy was. This was different, though. “I’m glad I’m here with you, Lainey was a pain in the ass all day, besides I need time to chill after that run in with your brother.” Amy rolled her eyes. “You survived, didn’t you? Clearly you gave him all the right answers otherwise this conversation might be taking place elsewhere.” Amy knew her brother. This didn’t mean that Brody was in the clear or off the hook in any way, but it was a step in the right direction, she figured. “And sorry about the, you know.” She mimicked her elbowing him in the side. “I forgot.” Her big brown eyes looked up at him in that way that made it to where he wouldn’t be able to hold it against her. She was very good at using them to her advantage, especially with Brody. tagged for: brody michael whitter // word count: 319 // notes: so adorable!!

a hard pair we will be even if she was adorable, she was incredibly forgetful. the few cracked ribs were still very tender and her elbow did not do them justice in the least. but it was her own fault for not thinking he would have found a way to drop lainey’s ass off and make his way over. that was still on her, and he smirked as she glared. even when she was trying to be angry at him, she was gorgeous as ever. “see what you get for making an assumption? it makes you look like an ass! but flattery gets me everywhere! so don’t pretend you don’t like it.” brody was so slick sometimes, but having her in his arms was when everything was right with the world. something about her body language said that this was uncharted territory for his girlfriend, and he kept his mind off of it. he just didn’t understand why amy would hide something like that because she was extremely talented. but her musical talents would have to wait a moment as he thought about that conversation with micah. the questions that her older brother had asked had hit some tender spots in the young man’s life. he looked at amy and kissed he top of her head before heading towards the couch with her fingers laced with his own. “i hope so, because i figured it was best to be completely honest. though some of those answers were more than i have ever cared to share with anyone, i guess he understood my honesty.” the question about aislinn and ben had been one of the hardest to answer. it reminded him too much of who he never wanted to be again, and made him appreciate where his life was now all the more. when he listened to her and saw those big brown eyes of hers and her little apology he chuckled lightly. “it’s fine, ames. it just hurt a little; so don’t you worry about it. what you should worry about is me asking about your singing. you are really good, babe. why am i just now finding out about it?” he sat down on the couch and pulled her onto his lap and stared into those eyes of hers. one thing that he did love about this woman before him...those eyes could see him for who he is, not who he was. one thing he would never forget or take advantage of and he just needed to remind himself of that. tagged for: amy lynn orsino // word count: 429 // notes: always amazing // credit: to luna love bug <3

COME ON, COME ON TURN UP THE MUSIC Brody led her over to the couch, her fingers laced through his. “I hope so, because I figured it was best to be completely honest. Though some of those answers were more than I have ever cared to share with anyone, I guess he understood my honesty.” Amy was glad to hear that it had at least gone well with Micah. She had watched her older brother chase away numerous guys in her life, and Brody was not one that she wanted chased away. But Amy also knew that it meant a lot to her that Micah liked Brody and that he accepted him as a possibility. Because Amy was absolutely crazy about him. “It’s fine, Ames. It just hurt a little; so don’t you worry about it. What you should worry about is me asking about your singing. You are really good, babe. Why am I just now finding out about it?” He pulled her onto his lap, and she leaned against him. She didn’t like where his thoughts had gone either. She sighed and sat up, running her fingers through her hair. “No one knows about it,” she said softly, still feeling embarrassed. There was more to it than just what he had seen. It went a whole lot deeper, more so than he probably knew or guessed at. “It’s not something I like to share with people.” For once she didn’t really like that he was putting her on the spot with this. She actually really hated it. Music wasn’t something people found that she actually found a passion of some sort in, but she did. That didn’t mean that she wanted people to know about it. tagged for: brody michael whitter // word count: 280 // notes: so adorable!!

a hard pair we will be brody was quite happy with how things had gone with himself and micah. it was better than he hoped seeing as to how he had been totally honest and explained everything that was going on in his head. it was a little hard on him because he had put himself out there in a way he never had. he had said a lot of things about his past that did not sit well with him, and it made him appreciate the woman that he had on his lap. he should have known by the way that she had turned off the game that there was something about her singing that she didn’t want to tell him, but it was them. brody and amy were a one of a kind deal, and he loved her. he wanted to know every little detail about her, and this secret singing passion was one of them. he smiled at her, trying to tell her that it was all good. no matter what, but her voice was soft while she spoke. he didn’t understand why that girl was so shy about this, because his amy was never shy about anything. “well, i know now, and i think you are wonderful.” brody was going to do anything he could to build her spirits, but she looked so glum there on his lap. he brought her face to his and kissed her softly. “i won’t tell a soul, if that is what you want. but i think you were amazing, ames. i don’t know why you hide it.” really, brody did not understand that in the least, but it was amy. there was bound to be a reason, it may not be entirely logical but there was bound to be something. he rested his chin on her shoulder before speaking again, “so little lady, what are we going to do now that i’m here. since you don’t want to force me into karaoke today.” sure there was a smirk, but he really didn’t need his girlfriend finding out about his complete inability to do any of the things she enjoyed. though her forcing to dance was always in the back of his mind. tagged for: amy lynn orsino // word count: 378 // notes: always amazing // credit: to luna love bug <3

COME ON, COME ON TURN UP THE MUSIC Brody didn’t even know the full extent of this whole thing. It went so much deeper and ran so much fuller. Amy didn’t really know where this passion had come from, but she could remember running around the house, singing at the top of her lungs when she was little. She had always loved to sing and dance when she was little, but when she had gotten older she got more secretive about it. She didn’t share this with anyone, not even her siblings. This was Brody, though, and they shared everything. “Well, I know now, and I think you are wonderful.” But he didn’t really know, did he? He didn’t know how deep it went. And that was because she had never showed it to him. Because it was hers and she never really shared it with anyone. “I won’t tell a soul, if that is what you want. But I think you were amazing, Ames. I don’t know why you hide it.” She wasn’t sure why she did, either. But she didn’t want to share it with anyone. Or at least she hadn’t. It was something close to her, some she was scared to express of herself. “So little lady, what are we going to do now that I’m here. Since you don’t want to force me into karaoke today.” Amy hesitated. She was afraid to do this, to express something that felt so completely personal. But this was Brody. She slowly pulled herself off his lap and took his hand. She didn’t say anything, but lead him to another area of the house where her family’s piano sat. She sat down on the bench and pulled him down to sit beside her. She lifted the case to reveal the keys and went to put her fingers on the keys. But she hesitated, bit her lip, and slowly turned to face Brody. “You can’t laugh, okay.” Because this meant a lot to her and she didn’t think she could handle that. Amy took a deep breath, then turned back to the piano and placed her fingers gently on the keys. She played a soft melody, an opening line, then softly sang the words she’d penned for this. “Can you feel me when I think about you? With every breath I take. Every minute, no matter what I do my world is an empty place. It’s like I’m wondering the desert for a thousand days. Don’t know if it’s a mirage but I always see your face. I’m missing you so much, can’t help it I’m in love. A day without you is like a year without rain. I need you by my side, not know if I’ll survive. A day without you is like a year without rain.” She stopped, then slowly turned to look at him, biting her lower lip nervously. She didn’t think she’d ever felt so exposed in her life, and even with Brody that was nerve-wracking. tagged for: brody michael whitter // word count: 492 // notes: so adorable!!

a hard pair we will be brody was soon being lead somewhere that he had never been in the orsino’s house, not that he had spent much time there. amy was normally over at his house, but his girlfriend’s hand felt good against his skin. she was such an intoxication for him, a drug he couldn’t get enough of. everything about amy was something different than he had ever had in his life before. now he was sitting on a piano bench waiting to see what amy had in store for him. it was nothing that could really surprise him, but as her fingers graced the keys on the piano brody was completely and utterly blown away. her voice was completely magical and he was just speechless as she was playing. he sat beside her unsure of what to do because this was his amy showing him something of herself that he or anyone never really knew. he felt special that she cared to show him this part of her. when her voice stopped, brody grinned at her. she was absolutely amazing and that was just how she was. everything about her was amazing, and he saw her face turn towards his. he let his hands find the sides of her face and pulled it gently to his; all he wanted was to show her how absolutely stunning she was. “you are absolutely amazing. i would never laugh at you, at least not for this. this is just mind blowing how you can keep something like this a secret, ames. you are talented.” brody realized that he was beginning to gush a little bit, but it really did shock him that she had kept this a secret for so long. amy wasn’t the most secretive person, considering she had to tell her brother about their relationship, so this music thing of hers was something huge. he smiled at her and was just genuinely happy that she would share something like this with him. “you have any other little tricks i need to be aware of, or are we all done with the secret keeping?” he kissed her forehead and leaned against her with his own. he completely loved this girl with all his heart. tagged for: amy lynn orsino // word count: 376 // notes: always amazing // credit: to luna love bug <3
