Okay, this may seem weird but it's driving my crazy. Can you guys do this math problem and tell me what you get?! You might have seen is on FB. If you've seen it before, you know the "correct" answer, but otherwise I'm not going to give it just to see what you guys come up with.
6÷2 (1+2)=?

yeah everyone keeps getting 9, but when i do it i get 1. lmao it just makes me hate math even more.
6÷2 (1+2) 6÷2 (3) 6÷6 =1

seeee that's the problem. because you can do it so many ways. and it is confusing!
6÷2 (1+2) 6÷2 (3) 3 (3) 9
i know it's either nine or one. i just don't know which one is right

*headdesk* idk why it's bugging me so much, it's not like it's homework or anything, just one of those stupid FB questions. lol but between 1 and 9 the answer percentage is nearly tied.
now that i think about it, i think it is 9 though. because even though order of operations says to do (1+2) first, i remember learning you still go from left to right doing multiplication/division at one time, then go back and find the addition/subtraction. so... i think 9 is right.
